Executive Staff Applications

Apply to lead the Center for Community Outreach as an Executive Staff member!

Applications are now open for the Creative, Communications, Development, and Into the Streets Week Directors.  Application review will begin on March 31, 2017.

Please read the individual job listings on KU’s HR websites to see the complete position descriptions, hours per week, and pay. Feel free to e-mail the Executive and Managing Directors of the CCO for additional information.

When submitting your application, please ensure that you send all supplementary materials to the CCO Executive and Managing Directors. Your application cannot be considered complete until all materials are received.

Apply to be Creative Director:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Maintain the CCO brand in conjunction with the Communications Director
  2. Design advertisements and other collateral materials to promote the CCO, its programs, and its events
  3. Follow the branding guidelines for the Center for Community Outreach
  4. Work in conjunction with the Communications Director to update design on the CCO website
  5. Design a semesterly newsletter for alumni and supporters of the CCO
  6. Report directly to the Executive and Managing Directors
  7. Execute other tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary

 

Apply to be Communications Director:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Maintain the CCO brand in conjunction with the Creative Director
  2. Distribute advertisements to promote the CCO and all of its programs and events
  3. Serve as the primary contact with local media including the University Daily Kansan, the Lawrence Journal World, KJHK radio station, and other news outlets
  4. Maintain and update the CCO website and social media sites in conjunction with the Executive Director
  5. Report Directly to the Executive Director and Managing Director
  6. Execute other tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary

 

Apply to be Development Director:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Organize fundraisers to support the financial health and growth of the CCO
  2. Establish and maintain contact with alumni
  3. Assist in the search for grants in conjunction with the Executive Director
  4. Oversee the maintenance and growth of the CCO’s University Endowment Account
  5. Work with the CCO advisor to develop learning objectives and outcomes for the development and growth of the CCO Core. Coordinate opportunities to facilitate progress toward these goals
  6. Work with representatives from the Center for Civic and Social Responsibility and other university offices and faculty to develop the CCO’s role in service and experiential learning at KU
  7. Report directly to the Executive and Managing Director
  8. Execute other tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary

Apply to be Into the Streets Week Director:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Plan the keynote event for Into the Streets Week, which involves finding and scheduling a speaker as well as planning a reception for students, faculty, staff, and community members
  2. Coordinate volunteer events for all 12 of the CCO programs in conjunction with the program coordinators and CCO staff
  3. Report directly to the Executive and Managing Director
  4. Execute other tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary
    *Please note that this position only works for 23 weeks, unlike the other positions, which all work 45 weeks per year.
