DISCOVER

Youth Activities and Engagement

Discover is a program that works with Lawrence elementary and high schoolers to promote education and learning initiatives in and out of the classroom. Volunteers visit elementary school classrooms to promote different themes to the students in a fun, active, and educational way. Example themes include lessons on teamwork, nutrition, and environmental awareness.

Discover also facilitates one-on-one tutoring for high schoolers in the Lawrence community, matching them with KU students with experience in the subject they need assistance with. Click here for the High School Tutor Application and for more information about this opportunity.

O’Connell Youth Ranch is in urgent need of after-school tutors! Click here for more information and to fill out an application.
